AirDrop on Android Expands to More Devices: Here's the Updated List of Supported Smartphones

(Android's universal Quick Share version launched previously) will be available on more devices, as announced by Google. This is an important upgrade that confirms the intent to make Android an increasingly universal platform capable of adapting to various usage contexts.
AirDrop on More Android Devices
The ability to utilize AirDrop to exchange files with Apple devices will come to additional Android devices. The updated list of new devices that will be able to utilize AirDrop includes:
- Samsung: Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z TriFold (for S24 and S25, it's unclear whether support will also be extended to the FE version)
- Oppo: Find X8 series
- OnePlus: OnePlus 15
- Honor: Magic V6, Magic 8 Pro
These devices will be added to a list that already includes: Google Pixel 10 Series, Samsung Galaxy S26 Series, Google Pixel 9 Series, Google Pixel 8a, Oppo Find N6, Oppo Find X9 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra.

There is still no precise information regarding the release timeline for this new feature that will allow the mentioned models to use AirDrop. We remind you that in order to use this feature, it is necessary (in addition to a software update) for the smartphone to meet certain hardware requirements, at the SoC, modem, and connectivity levels. Consequently, even in the future, the possibility of using AirDrop on Android is expected to be reserved only for premium and high-end models.
