Ninja CRISPi, so-called air fryers, changes everything: glass, portable, here on sale on Amazon
The Ninja CRISPi and a traditional air fryer both rely on cooking with circulating hot air, but they differ primarily in structure and use.
The Ninja CRISPi utilizes a modular system with glass containers: it allows you not only to see the cooking in real time but also to avoid using the baskets that are normally metal with a non-stick coating. Much easier to wash, too. Moreover, the same container can be used to serve or store food, making everything more practical and "all in one".
The traditional air fryer normally has a closed basket where the food is placed and cooked with no possibility of seeing inside without opening the lid, except in some cases where there is a small window. From a usability perspective, the Ninja CRISPi is more oriented towards everyday practicality, with a more immediate cooking-serving-storage flow. The traditional air fryer is more suitable for larger preparations, thus for families or larger quantities, and behaves more like a small convection oven.
Regarding performance, the CRISPi generally operates at temperatures of about 185–200°C, focusing on simplicity and visual control of cooking. As mentioned, the materials and cleaning are different. The CRISPi uses glass containers and removable components, without non-stick coatings, and is often perceived as cleaner in terms of materials.

There is also a version called PRO XL, and it's not just the size that changes. The standard CRISPi, the first one we described, uses a removable PowerPod system where the block with resistance and fan detaches completely and rests on top of the glass container. This makes it more compact and portable. The PRO XL, on the other hand, has a fixed structure more similar to a real kitchen air fryer, with an integrated base and more advanced digital controls.
Another important difference is temperature control. The standard CRISPi operates with preset programs and does not allow you to choose a precise temperature. The PRO XL, on the other hand, allows you to manually set the temperature, from about 80°C up to 230°C, with much more precise adjustments. This makes it better for following specific recipes or making more varied preparations.
The functions also change. The standard CRISPi has fewer cooking modes, while the PRO XL adds functions such as Roast, Dehydrate, Proof/Prove, and Keep Warm, becoming closer to a small multifunction oven.
