From Brianza to Global Semiconductors: Technoprobe Thrives Thanks to the AI Boom

The strong increase in demand for semiconductors designed for AI-related workloads continues to support the entire sector’s supply chain.

Among the companies benefiting from this expansion phase is Technoprobe, an Italian group specialized in the design and production of probe cards, which closed the first quarter of 2026 with significantly growing results and markedly revised upward prospects. Last year, the company lost its founder, Giuseppe Crippa, but this has not diminished its momentum.

The company, based in Cernusco Lombardone and listed on Euronext Milan, represents one of the leading global players in the probe card segment, electromechanical interfaces used to verify the correct functioning of chips during various stages of the production process. These are highly specialized components made to measure for each specific semiconductor, crucial to ensuring quality, reliability, and productivity yield in modern manufacturing processes.

Probe cards play a strategic role in the semiconductor ecosystem as they allow for testing of chips before final packaging and integration into electronic devices. The increasing complexity of AI processors, high-bandwidth memories, and advanced packaging solutions has further heightened the importance of these testing technologies, making them one of the key elements of the production chain.

Specifically, Technoprobe recorded consolidated revenues of 187 million euros in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 19% compared to the same period in 2025. The company attributes this growth primarily to the expansion of volumes related to AI, with positive contributions also from the consumer sector and the automotive and industrial segments, which are showing signs of stabilization after the inventory correction phase.

Profitability is also growing strongly. Consolidated EBITDA stood at 69.2 million euros, with a margin of 37%, an increase of over 44% compared to the previous year. According to the company, the improvement is mainly due to the operational leverage generated by the increase in volumes and the production efficiency activities initiated in the second half of 2025.

Technoprobe also emphasizes that the availability of production capacity has become a critical factor in the current expansion cycle of semiconductors. For this reason, the group is accelerating industrial investments and expects further expansion of production capacity with the commissioning of a new facility in the Cernusco Lombardone area planned for the first half of 2027.

The outlook for the coming quarters is particularly positive. For the second quarter of 2026, the company expects revenues of around 266 million euros, with an expected EBITDA margin around 45%. In light of the demand trends and production progress, Technoprobe has also decided to bring forward the targets originally set for 2027 to 2026.

The new annual guidance indicates revenues between 950 million and 1.05 billion euros, compared to the previous estimate of 850-900 million, while the expected EBITDA margin rises to 44-46%, against the previous range of 38-40%.

The results are causing the stock to soar today, with quotes currently up 30% from yesterday.
