Ring Spotlight Cam and Floodlight Cam 2nd Gen: 2K Retinal Video for Outdoors, Now Available for Preorder from €169.99 on Amazon

Ring has thoroughly revamped its range of outdoor cameras with the launch of the 2nd generation Ring Spotlight Cam and 2nd generation Ring Floodlight Cam, both equipped with 2K Retinal video resolution (2560x1440 pixels). With these two new models, 2K Retinal technology becomes the entry standard for the entire Ring range, bringing an extension of the video quality already introduced in indoor cameras to the protection of outdoor spaces. The devices are available for preorder on Amazon starting today, with prices beginning at €169.99.

Ring Spotlight Cam, battery-operated (latest model), features 2K Retinal video, 6x zoom, motion-activated floodlights, and a 30-day free trial of the Ring subscription plan. Price: €169.99.

Ring Floodlight Cam, wired version (latest model), offers 2K video, advanced 6x zoom, ultra-bright floodlights, and a 30-day free trial of the Ring subscription plan. Price: €199.99.

The Ring Spotlight Cam stands out for its dual battery compartment design, aimed at providing more flexible and prolonged power management. The new model is compatible with the Ring Ultra quick-release rechargeable battery, simplifying the recharging process without needing to disassemble the entire camera. The 2K Retinal resolution allows for capturing faces, license plates, and details with superior clarity compared to the previous 1080p, while the integrated 550 lumen spotlight guarantees more intense nighttime illumination, enhancing both visibility and deterrent effect. Both the battery and the Plug-In versions are available for €169.99, with shipments starting from June 19, 2026.

The Ring Floodlight Cam, on the other hand, is designed to cover large outdoor areas such as walkways, yards, entrances, and garages. It pairs 2K Retinal resolution with powerful 2000 lumen lighting, sufficient to illuminate large spaces both for deterrence and nighttime recording. The qualitative leap compared to the previous 1080p translates into greater sharpness across the entire field of view, day and night. The model is available in a wired version at the price of €199.99, with shipments starting from June 3, 2026.

Both cameras integrate into the Ring ecosystem and are compatible with Alexa for voice control, real-time feed viewing on Echo Show devices, and automatic activation in response to detected events. Like the entire Ring range, they support Live View, customizable motion notifications, two-way audio, and end-to-end encryption of videos. Video storage is available through the Ring Protect subscription, with free trials included with the purchase.
