How Huawei and La Tornanza Transformed the Casa delle Arti in Conversano into a Digital Village

The Casa delle Arti is one of the cultural hubs of Conversano, a municipality of about 25,000 inhabitants in the province of Bari. It was established in 2009 following the recovery of an abandoned building to become a multipurpose center managed by the Artimedia Social Cooperative. Inside, there is a literary bookstore, spaces for workshops, multifunctional rooms, and a Live Club dedicated to concerts, theater, and artistic exhibitions.

Over time, the managers realized that the interest surrounding the Casa delle Arti required a technological investment to enable new ways of use and management, starting with the need for better connectivity. Hence, the idea from La Tornanza to transform it into a Digital Village, a project that was realized with the support of Huawei.

From Cultural Space to Digital Village: The Evolution of Casa delle Arti

La Tornanza is a cultural project aimed at regenerating territories through culture, innovation, and entrepreneurship, promoting the return of talents and skills to their places of origin. From this vision, the model of Digital Villages arises: ecosystems where cultural spaces and aggregation points are enabled to function and grow thanks to advanced digital infrastructures, becoming more attractive, accessible, and connected.

One of the projects was indeed the transformation of Casa delle Arti into a Digital Village. Huawei supplied the necessary technology for this leap, starting with a new network infrastructure based on Wi-Fi 7 access points, which allowed for managing a greater number of simultaneous connections while avoiding bottlenecks and slowdowns.

Specifically, regarding the internal spaces, the Live Club and multifunctional rooms were covered with next-generation access points, capable of handling high traffic peaks without compromising service continuity. Outside, where concerts and exhibitions take place, devices were installed to ensure a stable connection even over large areas and in more complex operational contexts.

To facilitate interaction with visitors, Huawei IdeaHub, a collaborative system with a 4K touch display that allows for immediate content sharing from smartphones and computers, was integrated at the entrance of the center, transforming the welcome into an interactive and digital experience.

"Projects like Casa delle Arti demonstrate how technology can amplify the value of cultural places," comments Fabio Romano, Head of Industrial Ecosystem Development at Huawei Italy. "With next-generation solutions like Wi-Fi 7 and collaborative systems, we enable a more efficient management of events and new forms of participation, contributing to creating connected, inclusive spaces ready for the future."

"The Casa delle Arti was born to be an open space where people can meet, create, and share culture," states Stefano Coppola, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Artimedia Cooperative. "Today, thanks to this project, we can make a qualitative leap and offer even more engaging experiences without losing our soul."

La Tornanza, conceived by entrepreneurs Antonio Prota and Flavio R. Albano, is a cultural project designed to regenerate territories through culture, innovation, and entrepreneurship, promoting the return of talents and skills to their places of origin. From this vision, the model of Digital Villages arises: ecosystems where cultural spaces and gathering places are set up to function and grow thanks to advanced digital infrastructures, becoming more attractive, accessible, and connected.
