Apple iOS 27: New Fully Customizable Camera App and Rethought Siri
Apple is reportedly working on one of the most significant evolutions of the iPhone interface in recent years. According to rumors, iOS 27 will introduce a series of innovations designed to make the user experience more flexible, with particular attention to the Camera and the Siri assistant. The official announcement is expected on June 8 during the Worldwide Developers Conference.
The most significant novelty concerns the Camera app, which will become fully customizable. Users will be able to decide which controls to display and where to place them. Selectable options include flash, exposure, timer, and resolution, with a modular interface designed to adapt to the needs of those using the iPhone in professional settings.
The app will continue to offer the standard configuration already present today, but it will be possible to switch to an advanced mode or create a custom layout. Each shooting mode will feature specific widgets that can be accessed from a dedicated panel. In Photo mode, controls for depth of field, photographic styles, and grid and level settings will be available.
Additional Changes Expected with iOS 27
Siri will also receive a radical update. The assistant will no longer be limited to traditional voice commands but will transform into an intelligent agent always available, capable of accessing personal data and interacting with various applications. The interface will take on the appearance of a text conversation, similar to that of modern AI-based chatbots.
The new Siri will be integrated into the Dynamic Island and can be activated via voice, the side button, or a new "Search or Ask" bar. Users will be able to choose whether to search with Siri or with external services like ChatGPT and Gemini. Furthermore, it will be possible to ask general questions and receive enriched answers with images and bullet points.
In addition to Camera and Siri, Apple is preparing tweaks for Safari, Weather, and Image Playground, along with new system animations and changes to navigation bars. The aim would be to further refine the Liquid Glass graphic language introduced last year and offer a more modern, fluid, and customizable experience.
