SCUF Omega is official: New PS5 controller with Omron mechanical switches and 1K polling
SCUF Gaming has officially presented SCUF Omega, the new high-performance controller with official licensing for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Developed from the ground up based on 15 years of experience in competitive gaming and in collaboration with professional gamers, Omega is also compatible with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android, and is available globally starting today.
Omron Mechanical Switches and 1K Polling
On the technical side, SCUF Omega features Omron mechanical switches on triggers, D-Pad, and instant action buttons, ensuring faster activation and a precise, consistent response, with a feel similar to that of a mouse click. The 1K polling rate is available in both wireless and wired modes, the latter exclusively for PC, reducing communication latency between the controller and the device.
One of the most relevant technical elements is the inclusion of TMR Endurance thumbsticks (Tunnel Magnetoresistance), a technology that provides the same feel as traditional analog thumbsticks but with much higher wear resistance. For players accumulating hundreds of hours of play, this translates to precise and consistent control even after intensive use, without the drift that affects conventional controllers in the long term.
SCUF Omega also integrates 11 additional customizable inputs located on the rear paddles, side action buttons, and G keys, all mappable to tailor the controller to individual play styles and achieve faster reactions in competitive situations. All customization management occurs through the SCUF mobile app, available on iOS and Android, allowing real-time modification of almost all inputs, setting a 0% real deadzone, and adjusting trigger and thumbstick response curves directly from a smartphone without interrupting gameplay.
Additionally, SCUF has completely rethought Omega's ergonomics to eliminate vibration modules, a decision that reduces the overall weight of the controller and ensures more stable and consistent aiming during prolonged sessions. The optimized shape improves control of the rear paddles and ensures a more natural grip, with a balance specifically designed for high-level competitive gaming.
Omega features an integrated rechargeable battery with fast charging, eliminating the need to replace batteries as is the case with some competing controllers.
Who is SCUF Gaming and Its Connection with CORSAIR
SCUF Gaming was founded in 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia, with a clear goal: to provide gamers with better tools than those available on the market, derived from direct feedback from competitive gamers. In its early years, the company established itself in the eSports scene as a reference for high-performance custom controllers, building a reputation based on patents, build quality, and attention to the needs of those who play to win. In December 2019, CORSAIR acquired SCUF Gaming, which continues to operate as an independent brand within the group. The mission remains unchanged: to design controllers that provide a real and measurable advantage, both for professionals competing in tournaments and passionate players looking to take their game to the next level.
