Lies of P 2 Officially Enters Full Development Phase: The Soulslike Inspired by Pinocchio is Set to Return

Almost two and a half years since the first official confirmation of the project, the sequel to Lies of P has reached a fundamental milestone in its production journey. NEOWIZ has announced that the new chapter has completed the prototyping phase and has entered full development, a sign that the team’s work is progressing at an increasingly intense pace.

This information emerged in the financial report for the first quarter of 2026. The South Korean company did not provide concrete details on gameplay, setting, or release window, but the confirmation represents a crucial update for fans, who have been waiting for news about the future of the series for months.

In the document, NEOWIZ also dedicated space to ROUND8 Studio, the team responsible for the soulslike inspired by the world of Pinocchio. The company emphasized that the narrative component is considered one of the main strengths of the studio, having entrusted directing roles to Seung-ho Jin and Kay Lee, both from a screenwriting background.

Will we soon see some content related to Lies of P 2? The two developers mentioned are currently engaged in different projects, while the direction of the Lies of P sequel remains in the hands of director Choi Ji-won. However, it is not excluded that Jin and Lee could contribute to the project with their narrative experience, even if just in a consultative capacity.

Interest in the sequel is fueled by the excellent commercial performance of the first game, which sold over four million copies worldwide. Choi Ji-won had already reassured the community, promising that the new chapter would meet expectations and not disappoint fans.

With the Summer Game Fest 2026 scheduled for June 5, the possibility grows that NEOWIZ will showcase a first teaser of the project. Last year, the Overture expansion was surprisingly released during the event, and many observers believe that the summer showcase could be the ideal opportunity to unveil the first details about the new chapter.
