iPhone 20: Among the New Features, a Record Battery for the Apple Range
The new iPhone 20, the name given to the iPhone celebrating its twentieth anniversary set to launch in 2027, could feature various innovations, marking a turning point for Apple’s smartphone lineup, similar to the debut of the iPhone X in 2017. Here are the first details.
A Generational Leap for the Battery?
In addition to the rumors related to the display that emerged in recent days, the upcoming iPhone 20 is also at the center of speculation regarding its battery. There could be a substantial quality leap compared to the current models.
The smartphone may integrate a 6,000 mAh battery, significantly reducing (and likely eliminating) the current gap in autonomy that exists with high-end Chinese models, which benefit from silicon-carbon batteries that provide much higher endurance.
Among the specifications, there will also be reverse wireless charging, although the source does not clarify whether there will be support for a faster charging process compared to the current one (an upgrade would be necessary to reduce charging times given the increase in battery capacity).
Apple is also working on other innovations, including Face ID underneath the display and a new technology to make the glass used for device protection even more durable. There will also be a new 2 nm chip, and enhancements in the camera department are expected. Additional details will arrive in the coming weeks or, more likely, the next months. The debut is, however, scheduled for September 2027.
