ChatGPT, GPT-5.5 Instant Arrives: More Precision and Clarity, Fewer Emojis

OpenAI continues the development of ChatGPT with the arrival of GPT-5.5 Instant, the new default model used by the chatbot that promises to be "more intelligent and precise" as well as capable of ensuring "clearer and more concise responses," better suited to your needs.

A Step Up?

According to OpenAI's statement, the new model has produced 52.5% fewer incorrect assertions compared to GPT-5.3 Instant in high-risk questions (on topics such as medicine, law, and finance). There is also a noted 37.3% reduction in inaccurate statements in complex conversations.

In general, the company describes GPT-5.5 Instant as a model that is "smarter and more efficient in daily tasks," which likely represents the true benchmark for real performance evaluation of an AI. Improvements have also been reported in the analysis of photos and images, as well as in responses to questions related to STEM subjects.

Regarding daily use, OpenAI emphasizes that the new model can provide the most concise and direct answers, without losing substance, while maintaining what the company defines as "the warmth and personality that make ChatGPT enjoyable to use." During conversations, the model asks fewer unnecessary questions for clarification and will use emojis less often.

Among the tests published by OpenAI, it is highlighted that GPT-5.5 Instant uses 30.2% fewer words and 29.2% fewer lines, with the model proving to be more effective due to its ability to use the right tone, shifting from informal and practical to a precise tone suitable for the workplace. Thanks to the context from previous chats and other information that can be connected to the account, the model is able to provide more relevant and personalized responses.
