iPhone 18 Pro, the Dynamic Island will be there but it will be smaller: here's Apple's choice
New confirmations are arriving about the future iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, set to be released in the second half of the year, with a launch scheduled for September. Regarding the design, in addition to a new color that will replace the orange, popularized by the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max, there will be another novelty. Here are all the details.
The Smaller Dynamic Island
Apple has not succeeded in its goal of eliminating the Dynamic Island by hiding the Face ID sensors beneath the display. However, there will be no shortage of news for the next iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. As evident from the image that appeared online and is shown below, the Dynamic Island will become smaller, occupying a lower portion of the screen. The image is taken from CAD files of Apple’s future smartphone. It is still early for the first photos of the device prototypes.
This is an intermediate step towards a future elimination of this element, which could still take several generations to achieve and might arrive with the iPhone for the 20th anniversary. The situation will need to be monitored closely in the near future. Meanwhile, returning to the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max, the modification to the Dynamic Island now seems practically confirmed, after being anticipated by several rumors in the past.
This modification is also expected to affect the other components of Apple's smartphone range, starting from the iPhone 18, anticipated to debut in the first months of next year. Again, we will learn more in the future.
