Is ASUS 'abandoning' the RTX 5070 Ti? RTX 5080 at the center of it all

ASUS is reportedly significantly revising its production strategy in the graphics card segment based on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 architecture. According to industry sources, the company has decided to gradually limit the production of GeForce RTX 5070 Ti to focus capacity and resources on the RTX 5080 solutions.

This choice is believed to be linked to persistent supply chain issues and tensions related to memory availability, which directly impact production planning. Specifically, starting from the second quarter of 2026, ASUS is said to have begun reducing the supply of RTX 5070 Ti, primarily maintaining mainstream variants like the Dual and Prime series. Higher-end versions, particularly the ROG and STRIX lines, are expected to gradually phase out, with increasingly limited volumes until production ceases.

At the same time, the released capacity would be reallocated towards the GeForce RTX 5080, a model that shares the same 16 GB memory configuration but is positioned in a higher price and margin bracket. This decision reflects a logic already observed in recent months, with greater emphasis on high-end GPUs at the same VRAM configuration, deemed more profitable in a context of rising costs.

For its part, NVIDIA has reaffirmed its commitment to stabilizing production and mitigating the impact of rising memory costs on end consumers. However, the decisions of AIB partners could lead to concrete differences in the availability of individual models in the market. In light of this evolution, it is plausible that other manufacturers may adopt a similar approach, prioritizing GPUs with higher commercial value.
