Do you know how much a Tesla Megacharger costs? Here are the prices, now there's also the Basecharger

On the American configurator of Tesla, the section regarding charging infrastructure aimed at companies is also accessible, that is, those subjects that might be interested in installing a Tesla system to charge their fleet or offer the service to private customers.

Among the options, there is also one regarding the Tesla Semi, the electric truck that is now circulating in several units in the United States, which charges with a system similar to that of cars, but with a different name: Megacharger.

The name is quickly explained, given the power it can reach, up to 1.2 megawatts per single station. From the configurator, we find that the smallest order, which includes two charging points, has an estimated cost of 188,000 dollars, but there is also an option that costs much less.

It is called Basecharger, and it is designed for different uses. It is not meant for charging the truck's batteries in the shortest time possible, but is instead used when the vehicle needs to remain stationary for several hours, such as during breaks or overnight storage. Its power is limited to “only” 125 kW, quoted because for many electric cars it's the maximum usable power, if not more.

In this case too, the minimum order number is for two charging points, with an estimated price of 40,000 dollars. Additionally, if the client company wants to offer charging as a business model, Tesla proposes a cost of 0.08 dollars per kWh for the management of the charging process, from which they can then have a profit margin.
