Apple Will Not Release an iPad Ultra and It's the Fault of the iPad Pros

Apple has no plans to launch an iPad Ultra. A report confirms the plans of the Cupertino company, which must contend with the disappointing results achieved by the latest generation of iPad Pros that may not have met the set sales targets. Interest in high-end iPads is lower than that in high-end MacBooks.

No iPad Ultra on the Horizon

The latest rumors about the future of the iPad range are clear. Apple will not create an iPad Ultra, while it is instead focused on developing a MacBook Ultra with an OLED display, expected to arrive in the early months of 2027. This decision is linked to the disappointing results of the iPad Pros, which are unable to have the same commercial impact as the iPhone Pros and MacBook Pros.

The Cupertino company is reportedly working on a foldable iPad with a 20-inch display. However, this model may never hit the market, as insider Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has referred to it as "a bizarre experiment destined to never see the light of day, according to several people who worked on it."

Of course, plans can change in the future. Apple wants to create a new Ultra line, with iPhones and MacBooks, but also with AirPods and other products (there's already an Apple Watch Ultra, for example). So there is always room for the arrival of a new iPad Ultra in the coming years. For now, however, there is nothing in development.
