L.A. Noire: Take-Two Clarifies the Situation Regarding a Possible Sequel

In recent days, there has been talk online about the possible debut of a sequel to L.A. Noire, a title that, despite being released 15 years ago, is still greatly appreciated by fans. The topic of a new chapter for this IP has already been at the center of rumors and speculation in the past. This time, however, it was the CEO of Take-Two, the publisher that controls the IP, who provided an update on the situation.

Current Situation

To clarify things, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, in an interview with IGN, emphasized: "There is nothing specific to announce about L.A. Noire and if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me." However, following the denial, there was an additional statement to consider. Zelnick pointed out that Take-Two is evaluating the possibility of "utilizing all our intellectual property in the future." The CEO added, "In any case, regarding our historic IP, the teams are always examining it and we are always thinking about it. The question is: at any given moment, do we have a passionate team that wants to work on it?"

In Summary

A sequel to L.A. Noire is not in development at this time, but at the same time, its realization cannot be ruled out in the future. Despite many years of absence from the market, L.A. Noire could have great potential and return in an updated form suitable for the times with a second chapter (perhaps preceded by a remaster of the original version). In short, if you're a fan of the game, don't despair.
