However, the situation seems to have changed radically in 2026. According to various sources from the scene, there are no longer any PC games protected by Denuvo that cannot be cracked or bypassed.

The turning point is represented by the introduction of new bypass techniques based on unsigned hypervisors. This method does not directly remove the protection code, but tricks the system into believing it is running on a legitimate copy of the game. The group DenuvOwO is among the key players responsible for this progress, having made even recent titles accessible in very short times.

Is Denuvo still effective, or is it definitively "dead"? Meanwhile, developers like Voices38 continue to work on more traditional approaches, attempting to completely eliminate the Denuvo code from the latest games. This dual strategy (bypass and removal) has contributed to making DRM increasingly ineffective. The online community, including forums and platforms like CrackWatch, argues that the "war on DRM" may have reached its final phase. Although Irdeto has stated that it is working on new countermeasures, many experts believe it is now too late to reverse the trend.

The company may introduce a mandatory online check for games protected by the system, starting with those from 2K. Rumor has it that Irdeto is ready to implement a control system that imposes online checks every 14 days and a direct response from the company’s servers.

While waiting to witness the next developments, there are still some titles, especially in the virtual reality sector, that do not have completely Denuvo-free versions. However, it is likely that even these last cases will soon be resolved.
