Dongfeng at Milan Design Week 2026: The Mobility of the Future Between Immersive Installations and High Technology

Milan Design Week 2026 confirms itself not only as a showcase for furnishings but as a true laboratory for sustainable mobility. Among this year's main players stands out Dongfeng, which has chosen the evocative setting of the Teatro Alcione to present an immersive installation curated by the CABINAA studio. Far from the classic static exhibition, the brand offers a path where light and sound interact with visitors, culminating in a six-meter-high interactive light harp that transforms the audience’s movements into sound compositions.

But beyond the artistic suggestion, the heart of the event features two vehicles that represent opposite yet complementary poles of Dongfeng's vision: the brute force of off-road vehicles and the technological elegance of the premium sedan.

MHero 1: The Off-Road Electric Vehicle That Challenges All

The first protagonist is the MHero 1, an SUV that redefines the concept of off-road excellence through electric propulsion. Offered in three versions, the vehicle focuses on extreme performance and technological versatility.

Extended Range (REV) Versions:

These use a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine as a generator to charge the battery, while the traction is purely electric. The Rev II version offers 544 HP, while the Rev III reaches 816 HP with a total range of 825 km.

Full Electric (BEV) Version:

A power monster with 1,088 HP and 1,400 Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

All-Terrain Technology:

Equipped with adaptive pneumatic suspension AeroRide, the MHero 1 can tackle water crossings up to 90 cm deep. The most intriguing feature is the "Crab-walk," which allows the vehicle to move diagonally by steering the rear wheels over 10°.

Starting from €133,900 for the Rev II to €206,900 for the BEV version.

Voyah Passion L: The Flagship Focused on Autonomous Driving

On the opposite end of the range is the Voyah Passion L, a sedan over 5 meters long that embodies contemporary luxury and digital avant-garde. Here, the focus shifts to absolute comfort and intelligent safety.

Propulsion and Range:

The plug-in hybrid version combines a high-efficiency thermal engine with two electric units for a total power of 660 HP. The declared overall range is an impressive 1,400 km.

Level 4 Autonomous Driving:

The Passion L is one of the most technologically advanced cars on the market, equipped for Level 4 autonomous driving thanks to the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 platform. The system boasts impressive hardware: a 192-line LiDAR sensor, 11 cameras, 3 4D millimeter radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

"Magic Carpet" Comfort:

Inside, the experience is dominated by silence and well-being. The suspension with electromagnetic dampers offers a "flying carpet" effect, while the passenger seat features a "Zero Gravity" function designed to optimize blood circulation and reduce pressure on the neck.

With this dual proposal, Dongfeng demonstrates that the energy transition is not a one-way street. On one side, we have sustainability applied to extreme adventure, and on the other, technology that transforms the cabin into an intelligent living space.
