PC Market, +3.2% in Q1 2026: Lenovo Continues to Lead, +9% for Apple and +20% for ASUS
Computer sales grew by 3.2% in the first quarter of 2026, as confirmed by a new report from Counterpoint. This growth, according to analysts, would be linked to "preemptive purchases made before price increases due to memory costs affected the retail market, and necessary hardware upgrades caused by the end of support for Windows 10."
Apple, with its MacBook Neo, has made significant progress, but the fastest-growing brand in the Top 5 is ASUS. Meanwhile, Lenovo continues to confirm its leadership in the market by increasing the lead over its competitors.
Sales Increase in the First Quarter for Computers
The first quarter of 2026 closed with 63.3 million units sold worldwide, an increase of 3% compared to last year's figures. Leading the market is Lenovo with 16.5 million units sold, a growth of 9% and a market share of 26%. This is the best performance ever for a first quarter, confirming Lenovo's role as a leader, further distancing itself from competitors.
In second place is HP, which fell by 5%, while Dell ranks third with an 8% increase. As for Apple, sales grew by 11%, totaling 6.7 million units. According to Counterpoint, in the next quarter, Apple’s growth will be even more significant. Record growth for ASUS, which reached a total of 4.8 million units sold, with a 20% year-over-year increase.
Counterpoint highlights that about 40% of the current installed base consists of Windows 10 or earlier systems. Consequently, despite rising prices due to memory costs, the decline in the PC market will be less pronounced due to the need to upgrade obsolete computers.
