Zeekr 7GT Debuts in Italy at Milan Design Week: The Electric Sedan that Puts the Driver Back in Focus
Zeekr officially arrives in Italy and chooses the Milan Design Week 2026 as the stage for the debut of the Zeekr 7GT, the electric gran turismo developed by the Geely Holding Group brand with a clear aim: to put the driver back at the center in an EV market that often prioritizes onboard technology over driving pleasure. The Italian distribution is entrusted to Jameel Motors, an international distributor operating in over 10 countries.
The Art of Connection: the Exhibition at Design Week
From April 20 to 26, 2026, the Showroom 31 of Tortona Rocks will host "The Art of Connection", an immersive exhibition on two levels that tells the creative process behind the 7GT: from the first sketches and clay models to prototypes and immersive installations. The exhibition features a collaboration with the artistic duo EJTECH (Judit Eszter Kárpáti and Esteban de la Torre), while Stefan Sielaff, Vice President of Global Design at Geely Auto Group and Head of Zeekr Design, a member of the DESIGNBEST Hall of Fame with over 30 years of experience at Audi, Bentley, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz will be present at the fair to meet the public and openly discuss Zeekr's design process.
In parallel, Zeekr is the Exclusive Car Partner of Alcova, the independent ecosystem of Design Week that unfolds between Villa Pestarini and the former Military Hospital of Baggio. A dedicated shuttle service connects the two locations, bringing the 7GT into an international community of designers, architects, and creatives not as a sponsor but as an active infrastructure and integral part of the experience. Outside of Showroom 31, the Zeekr Café has been set up as an informal meeting space intended to welcome visitors, creatives, and press throughout the week.
The 7GT was designed at the Global Design Center in Gothenburg under Sielaff's direction and won the Red Dot Award for Design in 2024 upon its debut in the Chinese market, where it is sold as the Zeekr 007. For the European market, the name has been updated to 7GT to explicitly emphasize its gran turismo and driver-oriented vocation. The sleek lines and proportions of a sporty sedan (4,817 x 2,070 x 1,456 mm) are available in five colors: Crystal White, Onyx Black, Glacier Silver, Tech Grey, and the new Mystic Lilac, exclusive to Europe. The Privilege Edition is the launch version and offers Nappa leather interiors with exclusive PU finish colors, 20-inch wheels, and a black roof.
800V Architecture and Sports Car Performance
The powertrain of the 7GT is based on an 800V architecture with batteries available in two sizes: 75 kWh and 100 kWh. Ultra-fast charging goes up to 480 kW peak power, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in just 13 minutes, and adding up to 340 km of range in 10 minutes. The dynamic performance matches that of sports cars: 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h. The cabin accommodates up to 5 passengers with a cargo space of 456 liters.
Additionally, every element of the chassis has been specifically tuned for European roads, with tests conducted in 15 countries. The suspensions employ a double wishbone front and multilink rear setup, ensuring uncompromised comfort and control. The Privilege larger brakes ensure fade resistance and high cooling even in the most demanding conditions. The five driving modes also come with configurations dedicated to camping, roof racks, ski-through space, and towing, making the 7GT suitable for very different contexts.
Cabin and Onboard Technology
The driver's experience begins with a 35.5-inch augmented reality Head-Up Display, integrated with a 13-inch instrument cluster. Acoustic profiles are individually customizable for each occupant. The Zeekr Assisted Drive Level 2 driver assistance system integrates intelligent adaptive cruise control with towing assistance, automatic lane-keeping and changing, and traffic light detection, supported by a sensor architecture consisting of 7 cameras, 3 radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors processed by the J6M chip. There are 7 airbags and a reinforced structure for maximum passive protection.
Arrival and Variants
The first deliveries in Italy are expected in July 2026. The 7GT is produced at the Zeekr Intelligent Factory in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. It is offered in three configurations named Core, Long Range Edition, and Privilege Edition, with either 19 or 20-inch wheels. The Euro NCAP test is underway, and results will be available upon completion of the certification process.
Finally, we invite you to check out our first impressions of the Zeekr X and 7X.
