FRITZ!Mesh Set 2700: Wi-Fi 7 throughout the house with two or three repeaters, without complicated configurations
With the FRITZ!Mesh Set 2700, the German manufacturer brings Wi-Fi 7 to large homes in an accessible format without technical prerequisites: no dedicated router to replace, no advanced configurations. The set is available from today in Italy in 2 or 3 unit versions and consists of powerful FRITZ!Repeater 2700 units that automatically connect to each other, creating a unified Mesh network compatible with any existing router or fiber optic modem in the home.
Wi-Fi 7: What changes compared to the previous generation
Wi-Fi 7 (standard 802.11be) is the most significant evolution in wireless technology in recent years: compared to Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, it introduces Multi-Link Operation (MLO) technology, allowing devices to transmit and receive on multiple bands simultaneously. This leads to reduced latency and increased connection reliability, among other benefits. The FRITZ!Repeater 2700 operates on dual band and achieves theoretical speeds of up to 5,760 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and 688 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band, for a total aggregated of 6.5 Gbit/s. The antenna configuration is 4×4 on 5 GHz and 2×2 on 2.4 GHz, ideal for homes with many devices connected simultaneously.
One of the strengths of the FRITZ!Mesh Set 2700 is its connection versatility. The set can be used in three distinct modes:
- With existing FRITZ!Box: one FRITZ!Repeater takes on the role of Mesh Master and automatically integrates into the already active FRITZ! Mesh network, inheriting the network name and password with the push of a button.
- With third-party routers: compatible with any wireless router via Wi-Fi connection or LAN cable.
- Directly connected to an ONT: the Mesh Master independently manages the fiber optic connection and provides all FRITZ! functions like guest network, VPN, and parental controls without needing a separate FRITZ!Box.
Each FRITZ!Repeater 2700 connects directly to a power outlet and features a 2.5 Gigabit LAN port for wired connections to fixed devices like smart TVs, consoles, or NAS.
Inside the FRITZ!Mesh Set 2700, all repeaters share the same SSID and password, making the transition from one node to another invisible as you move around the house (seamless roaming). Devices automatically coordinate to optimize connections and performance based on traffic and user location. The system also receives free and regular firmware updates, introducing new features and progressively improving network performance over time.
Which version to choose: 2-pack or 3-pack
The two available versions cover different housing needs. The 2-pack version (€329) is indicated for homes up to 4 rooms on one or two floors. The 3-pack version (€449) is recommended for larger houses with over 4 rooms or on multiple levels, where continuous coverage without shadow zones is necessary. To find the optimal positioning of each repeater, the FRITZ!App Wi-Fi is available, which analyzes the signal quality at each point in the home.
