The director of the Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes leads Pragmata: new revelations about the Capcom game

Pragmata continues to attract attention ahead of its planned release on April 17, thanks to new information about the development team. Capcom has revealed that the role of general director is entrusted to Yasuhiro Anpo, a highly experienced figure within the company.

The news emerged during an episode of the YouTube series PLAY!PLAY!PLAY!, where the first moments of gameplay were shown. Anpo's presence represents an important signal for fans, given that he has served as co-director on successful titles such as Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake. His experience helps to raise expectations around the project.

Anpo has been working with Capcom since 1996 and has participated in numerous chapters of the Resident Evil saga, starting as a software engineer in the early games of the series. Throughout his career, he has taken on increasingly relevant roles, eventually becoming the production director of Resident Evil 5. He has also contributed to other important franchises, including Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Onimusha: Warlords.

The promotional video also features director Yonghee Cho and producer Naoto Oyama, who illustrated some features of the game alongside presenter Hatsune Matsushima. The first episode of the series shows the initial stages, while a second video will delve into more advanced sections, including boss fights.

One of the most original aspects of Pragmata is its setting: a New York version generated by artificial intelligence. The team has worked to create a world that is familiar yet unsettling, introducing visual anomalies such as taxis sinking into the ground or buses emerging from walls. Despite the concept of an environment "created by AI", every detail has been manually designed by the developers to achieve a disorienting yet coherent effect.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and Capcom has already confirmed that there will be no delays, as it has entered the gold phase. In the meantime, the free demo has been very successful, reaching about 2 million downloads.
