Intel Removes Old Graphics Drivers from Download Center: Focus on Recent Versions

Intel has initiated a review of its graphic driver archive. The company has removed a series of packages from the Download Center aimed at both the dedicated GPUs of the Arc family and the integrated solutions present in the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th generation Core processors. This operation, which began this month, is part of a streamlining strategy.

Specifically, the company eliminated all Arc drivers prior to version 32.0.101.6987, as well as drivers for integrated GPUs from the Core platforms of the seventh to the tenth generation prior to the release 31.0.101.2141. According to statements made, the goal is twofold: to simplify access to the most updated packages and to reduce fragmentation arising from an excessively extensive historical archive.

Intel is now aiming to direct users towards validated and more recent versions, discouraging the manual download of obsolete releases. In this context, the Driver & Support Assistant tool plays a central role, designed to automate the updating process and ensure the installation of the most suitable versions for the system in use. At the same time, the public download pages have been cleaned up, keeping only the packages considered active.

Regarding the Arc GPUs, the section dedicated to "historical" drivers continues to include version 32.0.101.6987 and later, with 32.0.101.8331 currently marked as the most recent release. On the integrated GPU front for 7th-10th generation Core CPUs, version 31.0.101.2141 is the latest available through official channels.

Intel has indeed removed the older drivers from its servers: attempts to directly access previous versions return "Access Denied" errors, indicating that the packages are no longer downloadable even through direct links. This is a concrete deletion and not merely an "aesthetic" reorganization of the website interface.
