Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro: The Power of Steam

One of the latest features that have been implemented in some wireless floor cleaning solutions is the use of steam for more effective cleaning of stains and residues present on the floor.

Tineco, with the model Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro, offers just this along with typical advanced functionalities found in the most recent models on the market.

It is the HyperSteam technology, as Tineco refers to it, that allows for the generation of a steam jet with an outlet temperature that is never lower than 99 degrees. The internal heater reaches up to 160 degrees, ensuring a continuous release of steam towards the floor. Its action helps dissolve grease and stubborn stains, making them removable by the action of the roller.

HyperSteam is activated by pressing a dedicated button on the handle, but the release of steam is, of course, not instantaneous: it takes about 60 seconds of preparation, with a percentage counter displayed indicating how long to wait until the operation is complete. Once ready, the Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro maintains the high-temperature steam output even when switching to other operating modes, making it readily available according to current usage needs.

For routine cleaning operations, different modes can be selected, starting with the Auto mode, which adjusts the suction power based on the amount of dirt detected by internal sensors. The second mode is the quieter one, followed by the maximum power mode and the steam generation mode. There is also a final suction-only mode, during which the roller is not sprayed with water.

The washing roller features a double-layer scraping structure, which prevents hair and fur from getting tangled around the roller, thus losing cleaning efficiency. Additionally, the scraper helps to remove dirty water that has washed the floor, allowing it to be sucked into the dark water tank.

Also interesting is the mode for automatic water strip removal at the end of washing: when the cleaning action is interrupted by pressing the designated button, the Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro reverses the direction of the wheels, backing up a few dozen centimeters and drying that section of the floor. This prevents water stains from forming on the floor, completing the cleaning process effectively.

The central button enables the ReverseScrub mode, which reverses the rotation of the front roller for just over 15 seconds. This way, the opposing scrubbing action on the floor helps to remove stains even more effectively.

When used as a traditional floor cleaner, the Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro boasts impeccable performance: it is easy to maneuver, thanks also to the weight of the water tank that rests on the base, making it easier for the user to move it. The roller’s cleaning action is very effective on all types of stains while hair, fur, and dust are vacuumed and directed into the collection tank.

When it is necessary to intervene even more effectively on stains, the power of steam can be used: after about 60 seconds of waiting for the heater to kick in and generate steam, the Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro will be ready for immediate use. Steam can be used for continuous floor cleaning and not only in the presence of particularly critical stains, but this obviously impacts battery operating time.

The maneuverability of the Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro is very good: the roller moves forward aided by the two rear wheels. These rotate at different speeds when the floor cleaner is directed not vertically but laterally, facilitating movements around furniture and close to walls. The roller is mounted against the structure of the floor cleaner on both the right side and the front, allowing treatment of the floor near furniture and walls without leaving uncovered areas.

At the front, there is an integrated LED light that helps better identify dirt on the floor and allows for better visibility of steam formation when this mode is activated.

The joint connecting the base and upper structure allows the Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro to lay completely flat on the ground: this proves useful when cleaning under furniture, beds, or sofas that provide enough ground clearance.

Also notable is the ability to set some operational modes through the Tineco APP: for various usage modes, customized settings can be configured, allowing adaptation of the operation of the vacuum floor cleaner to our specific needs.

The charging base performs a wash of the roller at the end of each floor cleaning operation. The roller is cleaned with hot water at 85 degrees, to dissolve dirt in the tubes and roller; subsequently, the roller is dried with a blast of hot air at 85 degrees for 5 minutes, or alternatively with a quieter airflow for 40 minutes. The result is the restoration of full functionality of the floor cleaner, making it ready for the next cleaning operation.

It is worth noting that during self-cleaning, the roller rotates 720 degrees in both directions, ensuring a deeper cleaning of the brush.

The Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Steam Pro is priced at €849, a figure that can be reduced thanks to periodic promotional initiatives by Tineco on its website and through commercial partners. A replacement brush and a second filter for the dark water tank are included. A complete product, not economical but that offers impeccable performance and the added benefit of steam for deeper cleaning of dry and difficult-to-remove stains.
