New adjustment from TIM but this time the increase can be avoided: here's how

TIM has announced a new adjustment. Some fixed network customers will see an increase in their subscription fee. This time, however, the increase can be avoided by upgrading the technology. Let's recap all the details.

New adjustment from TIM

Starting from May 1, 2026, as announced by the operator, some TIM fixed network customers will receive a fee increase of 2.99 euros per month, VAT included. No further changes to the offer are expected. The increase is linked to "economic sustainability needs of investments related to the increase in data traffic."

In addition to the possibility of exercising the right of withdrawal without costs or penalties, adjusted customers can avoid the increase by requesting a cost-free upgrade to FTTH fiber optics or FWA wireless network. This option will be available to customers with an ADSL or mixed fiber FTTC subscription. The request must be sent by April 18, 2026, with the user having to contact TIM Customer Service at 187 or visit a TIM Store. The upgrade will also guarantee a monthly bill discount of 1 euro. However, the technology upgrade option is not available for fixed network customers adjusted in March 2026.

The aim of this adjustment is to push users towards the latest technologies such as FTTH and FWA. It is also noteworthy that if the technology upgrade does not succeed, it will still be possible to avoid the adjustment, although the bill discount will not be applied. For further details, you can refer to the communication that the operator included to adjusted customers in the bill.
