Siri May Have a Dedicated Store for Third-Party AI Services with iOS 27

Apple's plans for the future of Siri are no mystery. The Cupertino company aims to regain ground in the AI assistant sector, and, leveraging its partnership with Google, it intends to update and improve Siri, which will also have a dedicated app similar to ChatGPT and Gemini.

A Store for Siri?

Among the new features of iOS 27, there should also be the possibility to connect Siri to third-party AI assistants, through a special "Extensions" system. This is one of the main novelties for Siri with iOS 27.

To manage this new aspect, Apple is expected to create a dedicated section in the App Store, which will become a true marketplace where users can find add-ons and AI services to connect to Siri.

This update was first revealed by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg in the latest edition of the Power On newsletter. Users will be able to access the App Store and the new section to find Extensions to add to Siri.

Some of these might be paid, allowing Apple to monetize through commissions and further increase revenues, following the introduction of advertising in Apple Maps.

It is worth noting that the new version of Siri will be unveiled during the next WWDC event, scheduled for June 8. The release is planned for September, along with the arrival of iOS 27 and the new iPhone 18 Pro. More details about the new Siri and all related updates will surely come in the following weeks.
