Fiat 600 Gasoline Without Hybrid: 101 HP, Manual Transmission, and Timing Chain Starting at €18,950

Fiat adds a third engine to the 600 range: a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo with 101 HP paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, without any electrification. The launch price starts at €18,950 with scrappage of a vehicle up to Euro 4 and financing through Stellantis Financial Services. The offer is valid for all of April, with deliveries expected in June 2026.

The Engine: What Changes Compared to the Past

The Turbo 100 is the same engine that has already debuted on the Peugeot 208 and 2008, but compared to the previous 1.2 turbo gasoline of equal power, it shares only 30% of its components. The most significant novelty from a reliability standpoint is the replacement of the oil bath timing belt (which caused structural problems in older PureTech models) with a timing chain, which has also been adopted in the mild hybrid variant. The variable geometry turbocharger optimizes response at low revs, while the high-pressure direct injection system at 350 bar and operation on a Miller cycle with a high compression ratio aim for thermal efficiency. The maximum torque is 205 Nm available at 1,750 rpm, with peak power at 5,500 rpm.

Range and Prices

The gasoline version will be available in all five trims: Pop, Icon, Business, La Prima, and Sport. The positioning is deliberately below the Hybrid, which, in the entry configuration, exceeds €25,000. At €18,950 with incentives, the 600 Turbo 100 becomes the most affordable access point to Fiat's B-SUV, a segment where competitive pressure is high, as evidenced by the recent range update. For those who do not want hybrid or electric and prefer a manual option, this is a choice worth considering.

At launch, there is also a special series called 600 Street, a limited edition of 2,000 units with a two-color livery and a dark-toned interior with contrasting inserts, designed for those who want to stand out without sacrificing the mechanical simplicity of the base version.
