Apple Updates Vintage and Obsolete Products Lists: Here Are the New Entries

March 2026 has been rich in news for Apple, with many products launched one after another in the early days of the month to enrich the lineup. After the launches, the Cupertino company began to organize its products, updating the list of vintage or obsolete products. These two lists feature three new entries (one new vintage device and two obsolete) by the end of the month.

A vintage product, according to Apple’s definition, is a product that can only be repaired at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers, provided that spare parts are still available. An obsolete product, on the other hand, is no longer eligible for any type of service and, therefore, cannot be repaired.

MacBook Air Becomes Vintage

The vintage products list now includes the 13-inch MacBook Air from 2017. This is the last generation of the Air line released before a significant update to the lineup with the introduction of the Retina display in 2018 and also prior to the revolution brought by Apple Silicon chips. Those still using this type of MacBook Air can consider an upgrade to the new MacBook Neo.

iPad Mini 4 and Apple TV HD 32 GB Are Now Obsolete

Among the obsolete products, we find the iPad Mini 4. This compact tablet was launched in 2015 and was discontinued in 2019, remaining on the market much longer than other tablets do. However, its time has come. Joining the tablet among the obsolete products is the Apple TV HD in the 32 GB storage variant.
