Xiaomi's upcoming flagship will feature new camera sensors: the goal is to make a significant leap in quality

Xiaomi is experiencing a very positive period, with encouraging results recorded in recent months, and aims to expand its presence in the high-end smartphone market. To achieve this goal, the future Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be crucial, the brand's next flagship model, at least for the Chinese market (in Europe, it should be noted that the Xiaomi 17 Pro/Pro Max did not arrive).

The debut is expected in the second half of the year, but in recent hours, new rumors have anticipated the features of the model that aims to ensure a significant leap in quality regarding the photographic sector.

Latest on the future Xiaomi 18 Pro Max

Xiaomi is expected to update the camera system of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The new flagship, according to a new leak, could represent a notable step forward compared to the current 17 Pro, which includes three 50 Megapixel sensors (main, ultra-wide, and telephoto).

In particular, according to rumors, there will be a new 200 Megapixel main sensor, with dimensions of 1/1.28 inches, and support for LOFIC HDR 3.0 technology for improved performance in low-light conditions. An update is also coming for the telephoto lens, with a switch to a 200 Megapixel sensor, featuring a wider aperture compared to the sensor used in the previous model and support for macro photography. The actual leap in quality, regardless of the increase in Megapixels, will need to be tested in the field after the launch.

Completing the technical specifications of the new Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be a 6.8-inch AMOLED display (with the return of the secondary display integrated into the back of the shell), the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC (but Xiaomi is not expected to use the Pro version), and a 7,500 mAh battery.
