Satellite Connectivity Now Available on Budget Devices: Huawei Unveils Its Strategy

Despite its limited presence in the global market and its inability to use the latest chip technologies, Huawei continues to grow and strengthen its position in China and in the AI market.

In the near future, the Chinese company has an important goal: to promote the spread of satellite connectivity, bringing it to budget devices as well. This is an aspect that should not be underestimated, especially due to the presence of many rural areas in China where satellite connection could make a significant difference.

Satellite Connectivity for Everyone

Huawei's intentions have been confirmed by Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei Consumer Business Group. In a video published on Weibo, the manager confirmed what the company's next move will be.

Satellite connectivity will become increasingly accessible (at least in the Chinese market), allowing mid-range and low-cost smartphones and smartwatches to access these features.

In this way, Huawei aims to build a global network without blind spots, addressing the coverage issue of terrestrial networks in rural and low-density areas in China.

Satellite networks will become a central element of Huawei products, being more easily usable and extending their use beyond emergency situations, which until now was exclusive to flagship models.

The release of satellite connectivity features will be gradual, but the strategy is now definitive. More and more users will be able to take advantage of this technology in the near future. Following Huawei's lead, other manufacturers may also begin to implement these functions.
