Amazon Deliveries in Italy Become Faster and More Sustainable
Amazon continues to refine its fast delivery service in Italy, which has long allowed customers to receive products on the same day. A new initiative concerning the sorting center in Peschiera Borromeo now aims to ensure a further leap in quality. Meanwhile, the company continues to strengthen its network of electric deliveries.
Faster Deliveries with Amazon
Amazon has long been a reference point in Italy for fast deliveries, having delivered over 230 million products on the same day or within one day in 2025. The service of fast and free same-day delivery, at no cost for Prime customers, has been expanded to reach over 30 cities in Italy.
To improve further, Amazon created a fast delivery area within the sorting center in Peschiera Borromeo, which serves the Milan area and thousands of customers each month. This allows customers to place orders until 5 PM (from a selection of the most requested products) and receive their chosen products that very evening.
Amazon employs artificial intelligence and machine learning to constantly update the selection of items available through the service based on customer requests and seasonality. AI also assists in other phases, helping to identify the most efficient delivery routes to minimize both time and emissions.
Zero Emission Deliveries
In terms of environmental sustainability, Amazon has confirmed that it has enhanced its network of electric deliveries in Italy, introducing cargo bikes in Florence, a new micromobility hub in Verona, and same-day deliveries with small electric vehicles in Milan, Rome, and Genoa. For Europe, the company has also ordered nearly 5,000 electric vans from Mercedes-Benz, with a plan to introduce around 500 vehicles in Italy.
