NVIDIA App Update: DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic MFG Arrives for Higher Frame Rates and Reduced Latency

With the beta update of the NVIDIA App, DLSS 4.5 makes its debut, an evolution of the AI-based rendering technology that builds on what was introduced starting in January 2025. As always, the mission of the suite remains the same: to offer the highest possible performance without sacrificing visual quality.

The main innovation is Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, a technology that automatically adjusts the number of generated frames. The system analyzes the GPU load in real-time and establishes the best balance between performance, visual quality, and latency, avoiding the use of fixed multipliers introduced with MFG. Activation occurs directly from the “Graphics” tab of the NVIDIA App, with options for global configuration or per individual game.

On GeForce RTX 5000 series GPUs, DLSS 4.5 also adds support for Multi Frame Generation 6X, made possible by the second-generation Transformer model and optimized frame pacing. In this scenario, the GPU generates up to five additional frames for each native frame.

In titles with path tracing, upgrading from 4X mode to 6X enables an increase in 4K frame rates by up to 35%, while maintaining low latency thanks to integration with NVIDIA Reflex. This allows for optimal use of more recent displays like 240 Hz 4K OLED monitors or ultra-high refresh rate panels in 1080p and 1440p.

DLSS 4.5 also brings improvements to RTX 4000 series GPUs, as well as to the 5000 series, through an update of the Frame Generation model. The use of additional data from the game engine allows for refining the rendering of interface elements, resulting in more defined HUDs and sharper mini-maps. The outcome is an overall cleaner image, with particular attention to details that often prove critical in traditional upscaling systems.

Finally, while 20 already announced games will natively support the new Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, some existing games will receive specific updates to enhance the visual experience.

In ARC Raiders, the Flashpoint update introduces new content and technical improvements. Support for DLSS increases frame rates, responsiveness, and visual quality, also thanks to NVIDIA Reflex and RTXGI for ray tracing lighting. The update to DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution is available through the NVIDIA App.

Marvel Rivals also benefits from the new technologies with Season 7. DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation allows for up to five times frame rate increase, while Reflex reduces latency by up to 55%. Activating DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution further enhances image quality during gameplay.

DLSS 4.5 represents another step forward in the use of artificial intelligence applied to real-time rendering. NVIDIA once again demonstrates how software is now defining hardware performance, naturally backed by massive use of AI.
